Principle of operation
The analyzer measures total ammonia and monochloramine in drinking water to determine the concentration of free ammonia. The improved phenate colorimetric method is used to determine the concentration of monochloramine. Under excess hypochlorite and a suitable pH value, the total ammonia concentration can be measured by the phenate method. The total ammonia minus monochloramine gives the free ammonia concentration.
