Detection principle
Organic matter containing conjugated double bonds or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons can absorb ultraviolet light when dissolved in water. Therefore, by measuring the degree of absorption of these organic substances to 254nm ultraviolet light, the measurement results are expressed with a special absorption coefficient SAC254 as a physical quantity that measures the total amount of organic pollutants in water. Under certain conditions, SAC254 can be converted and displayed as COD, BOD, DOC, TOC values. The instrument realizes automatic turbidity compensation through a dual-beam system.
