1. Project Background — Protecting "Living Fossils in Water"
The Yangtze River Estuary Chinese Sturgeon Nature Conservation Base is located on Chongming Island in Shanghai. The base aims to protect endangered species such as the Chinese sturgeon and Yangtze finless porpoise, and to carry out domestication, breeding, breeding, and science education for these animals. The total construction area of the project is 39,630 square meters, with main buildings including scientific research workshops, environmental monitoring and species protection laboratories, various outdoor conservation pools, ecological wetlands, and artificial treatment facilities.

Compared to conventional aquaculture projects, the Chinese sturgeon project has its own unique features in system control and monitoring. On one hand, due to differences in the organisms raised and their uses in each workshop area, as well as significant differences in supporting facilities, water treatment processes, and water quality requirements, the park's automated control system is complex and large; On the other hand, the project demands extremely high accuracy in water quality monitoring and the reliability of water treatment control, ensuring that on-site facilities can operate normally under extreme conditions. Our company was honored to participate in the construction of the automated control system and online water quality monitoring system for Phase II of the project, contributing to the creation of a safe and stable habitat environment for protected animals within the base.

2. Construction Content — Full coverage of automatic control systems and monitoring instruments
The construction of the automatic control system covers the PLC automatic control system, process inspection instruments, and central control system for the second phase of the project. For different types of farmed fish, we customized corresponding control solutions, deploying control cabinets in workshops, high-level wetlands, and outdoor fish ponds, equipped with instruments such as liquid level and pressure. Through the linkage between PLC and the central control room, automatic adjustment of pumps, valves, and other equipment and centralized data management are achieved, ensuring the treated water meets the vital activity needs of related fish.
For water quality monitoring systems, we use high-precision multi-parameter monitoring instruments to comprehensively monitor key indicators such as temperature, pH, conductivity, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, ORP, ammonia nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, and TSS at the inlet and outlet of the tank, ensuring water quality meets aquaculture standards. Among them, freshwater and seawater monitoring systems are independently installed to avoid interference from mixed measurements. At the same time, special monitoring is supplemented for different process sections, such as adding online analyzers for residual chlorine and permanganate index in high-altitude wetlands, to ensure the safe reuse of purified water quality.

3. Significance of Construction—A Win-Win for Technology and Ecology
Through the construction of an automated control system and online monitoring instruments, this project achieved automated operation and precise regulation of aquaculture and water treatment, providing solid support for the safety of the base water environment. Currently, the project has successfully completed acceptance, and all equipment performance meets expected standards.
As a large-scale aquaculture instrumentation and control project undertaken by our company, this project not only demonstrates our technical strength in environmental protection but also closely aligns with the company's upholding development philosophy. In the future, we will continue to rely on technological power to tirelessly strive to build a beautiful home where humans and nature coexist harmoniously.
