The Chumen River system is one of the main river systems in Yuhuan City. The upper reaches of the nationally controlled section of the Yuhuan Lake Watershed Sluice are one of the main catchment areas in the upper reaches of Yuhuan Lake. In recent years, relevant departments have attached great importance to the management of the Chu River system, improving the basin's water quality from the previous inferior Class V to overall Class IV, with some areas even meeting Class V standards. However, the water quality assessment at the Yuhuan Lake Diversion Sluice Gate section meets the Class III surface water standard, so the current water quality still falls far short of this target.
      The management and improvement of the Chumen River system's water ecological environment not only relate to the regional ecological environment, urban appearance, and living environment of Chumen Town, but also to the overall improvement of the water ecological environment in the Yuhuan Lake basin of Yuhuan City, affecting the stability of water quality at the national control section. Compared with the requirements for building a beautiful China, basin water pollution prevention and water ecological environment protection still need further improvement. To further improve and enhance the regional aquatic ecological environment, the Chumen Town People's Government has launched the Phase I Water Ecological Environment Management and Enhancement Project for the Chumen River System Upstream of the Yuhuan City National Control Section.

In July 2023, our company won the bid for the Yuhuan City National Control Section upstream Chumen River System water ecological environment management and enhancement project. The project includes 5 micro-station monitoring systems for surface water quality (monitoring factors: pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, permanganate index, ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus, total nitrogen), 92 rainwater outlet manhole water quality monitoring systems (monitoring factors: pH, conductivity, ORP, COD, etc.), and 2 hydrometeorological monitoring systems. After project implementation, a smart water management system was established, and the overall construction of the Chumen River system's intelligent water ecological environment information platform was completed.

Through our project, we can reduce the pollution load inflowing into the Chumen River system, monitor the status of urban sewage and stormwater wells in real time, trigger alarms when the level exceeds limits, provide relevant management departments with a basis for drainage scheduling, monitor the water quality and level of stormwater and sewage wells in real time, improve the water quality of the Chumen River system, gradually restore river biodiversity, enhance river self-purification capacity, and thus ease the pressure on the Yuhuanhu Fenshui Sluice National Control section to meet standards.

Through real-time water quality monitoring systems and management, relevant departments can achieve round-the-clock remote monitoring of the watershed, fill blind spots in basin monitoring, obtain timely warnings, and prevent wastewater pollution risks, laying a solid foundation for comprehensive watershed pollution source tracing.
