working principle
 
Since the pH is proportional to the logarithm of the hydrogen ion concentration, it is difficult to measure accurately if the standard potential method (glass electrode + reference electrode) is used to measure pH under low conductivity conditions. This requires the instrument to be calibrated frequently to compensate for changes that occur during the measurement (liquid junction potential, glass film loss, etc.).
 
In contrast, conductivity measurement in this condition is very reliable and accurate, because conductivity is directly proportional to the concentration of impurities and requires little maintenance.
 
Therefore, through the relationship between the pH and conductivity of the sample, the pH can be accurately measured by measuring the conductivity.
 
The measurement principle is to convert the salt into acid form by flowing the sample through the cationic resin, and measure the conductivity in the original conditioning cell through the relationship between the conductivity of the acid and its corresponding salt (about 3 times).
 
However, if the sample contains impurities (usually in the form of salt), this calculation method cannot be used.
