Product Overview:

The HACH TSS sc turbidity/suspended solids probe is a high-precision sensor integrating dual-parameter monitoring of "turbidity + suspended solids." It uses a dual-source eight-beam measurement system at its core, compatible with DIN EN 27027/ISO 7027 international standards. The probe can cover wide-range monitoring needs without switching devices. Paired with a sapphire measurement surface, multi-material customization (titanium alloy/sanitary grade), and optional self-cleaning brushes, it adapts to industrial scenarios (pulp, thermal power, food and beverage, municipal wastewater, surface water/drinking water, etc.), especially capable of handling complex conditions such as high temperature, high corrosion, and explosion-proof, providing stable and reliable real-time data for water clarity control and pollutant removal efficiency evaluation.

 

Working Principle:

  • 1. Core Technology: Dual-source eight-beam system

    Using 860nm wavelength infrared pulse light, "dual light source synchronous operation + eight-channel multi-angle measurement" eliminates interference at the source:

    Dual light source coordination: Two infrared light sources emit pulsed light simultaneously, avoiding measurement interruptions caused by single light source failure, while offsetting the impact of specular contamination, temperature fluctuations, and water color (such as industrial wastewater pigments) on data;

    Eight-beam validation: Eight channels collect optical signals from multiple angles, correcting measurement biases through cross-validation to ensure data accuracy in complex water samples (such as bubble-containing industrial water with high suspended solids).

  • 2. Turbidity measurement: dual-channel 90° scattering method (meets international standards)

    Principle: Based on DIN EN 27027/ISO 7027 standards, it captures 90° scattered light intensity through dual channels and converts to turbidity values (NTU);

    Advantages: Scattered light measurement is sensitive to tiny particles in water (such as colloids and low-concentration suspended solids), offering high accuracy at low measurement ranges, suitable for low turbidity scenarios such as drinking water and surface water.

  • 3. Suspended Solids Measurement: Eight-channel multi-angle method

    Principle: Uses eight channels to collect scattered and transmitted light signals from different angles, combined with built-in algorithms (optimized for different particle morphologies and densities) to convert suspended solids concentration (mg/L);

    Advantages: No separate calibration required; suspended matter monitoring can be achieved directly through the same probe, adapting to high-suspended material scenarios such as industrial wastewater and municipal sewage, avoiding repeated deployment of multiple devices.
