Product Overview:

The HACH BIOTECTOR B3500c TOC (Total Organic Carbon) Analyzer uses two-stage oxidation technology to fully oxidize the sample, resulting in more accurate total organic carbon measurement. This total organic carbon analyzer has a high operating rate, can replace pump tubing and reagents independently, and can monitor dual-channel samples. It is a TOC detector that combines reliability and low cost.

 

Working Principle:

The B3500c TOC analyzer uses an analytical process of acid purge - secondary oxidation - non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) detection to ensure measurement accuracy and stability:

  • Removal of Total Inorganic Carbon (TIC):

    After the sample enters the instrument, acid is first added to adjust the pH, converting inorganic carbon (such as carbonates and bicarbonates) in the water sample into CO₂, which is then removed by blowing gas.

  • Secondary Oxidation (TSAO):

    The organic matter in the remaining samples is thoroughly oxidized into CO₂ through a secondary oxidation technology (TSAO) that combines thermal chemical oxidation with ultraviolet catalytic oxidation, ensuring that refractory organic matter can also be effectively decomposed.

  • CO₂ Detection and TOC Calculation:

    The oxidized CO₂ is then released again through acidic purging and quantitatively detected by a highly sensitive non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) detector.

    The final results are directly output in the form of a total organic carbon (TOC) meter.
