Measurement Principle:

The HMA-TNI total nickel detector uses colorimetric spectrophotometry for detection, high-temperature digestion of water samples, and dissolving reagents are added to the sample. Samples are pumped to the high-temperature digestion unit. The total nickel in the sample is decomposed into divalent nickel ions. Divalent nickel ions form orange-brown colored complexes with butaneoxime in alkaline solution under the presence of an oxidizing agent (ammonium persulfate). Spectrophotometry was performed at a wavelength of 470nm, and based on the initial color of the sample and the color after adding the color reagent, the difference between the two was compared to analyze the sample concentration.

Typical Applications:

The HMA-TNI total nickel detector is used for online monitoring of total nickel in surface water, industrial wastewater (such as nickel-containing electroplating wastewater), and wastewater.
