Measurement Principle:
The HMA-TCU copper ion analyzer uses high-temperature digestion of water samples, converting complex copper, organic copper, and other substances in the sample into divalent copper ions. Then, the reducing agent hydroxylamine hydrochloride converts divalent copper into cuprous, using copper-sulfur as the color developer. Cuprous ions react with copper-sulfur to produce yellow-brown complexes. The concentration of this complex is positively correlated with the total copper concentration in the water sample. Spectrophotometry was performed at a wavelength of 470nm. Based on the initial color of the sample and the color after adding the chromogenic agent, the difference between the two was compared to analyze the sample concentration, enabling copper ion detection and determination.
Typical Applications:
The HMA-TCU copper ion tester can be used for detecting copper ions in surface water, industrial wastewater (such as electroplating wastewater), and at sewage plant inlets and discharges.
