Measurement Principle:

Under certain temperature and pressure, in acidic solution, various valence states of chromium in the water sample are oxidized into hexavalent chromium. Hexavalent chromium reacts with diphenylcarbodihydride (DPC) to form a purplish-red compound. Spectrophotometry is measured at a wavelength of 540 nm. Based on the initial color of the sample, which differs from the color after adding the chromidian, colorimetric measurement is performed using a colorimeter, and the total chromium concentration is finally calculated.
