Product Overview:

HACH 5500SC AMC Ammonia/Monochloramine Analyzer HACH is an intelligent monitoring solution designed specifically for chloramine disinfection processes. This instrument accurately measures the concentrations of total ammonia, free ammonia, and monochloramine, effectively preventing nitrification reactions and odor issues, providing reliable data support for the stable operation of water treatment processes, and helping to achieve safe and efficient disinfection management.

 

Working Principle:

The 5500sc AMC uses an improved phenolic salt colorimetric method, ensuring data accuracy through two-stage measurement:

  • Chloramine concentration determination

    Phenolic salt analysis is performed directly on water samples to obtain the initial concentration value of monochloramine.

  • Total ammonia concentration conversion measurement

    Additionally, water samples were taken and excess hypochlorite added. Under specific pH conditions, all free ammonia was converted into monochloramine, and the total ammonia concentration was measured again by phenolic salt method.

  • Free ammonia calculation

    By subtracting the chloramine concentration from the total ammonia concentration, the free ammonia content undisturbed by residual chlorine can be accurately determined.
