Working Principle:

The ammetry method is an electrochemical technique that measures the change in current caused by chemical reactions on the electrode, with the generated current proportional to the concentration of the analyte. A standard ammeter sensor consists of two different electrodes—an anode and a cathode (for example, silver/platinum or copper/gold).

The difference is that the CLF10sc and CLT10sc online residual (total) chlorine detectors use a three-electrode amperage measurement system, with the anode divided into two parts—the reference electrode and the auxiliary electrode (or anti-electrode). These systems are usually supported by special circuits that guide voltage between the two electrodes. The three-electrode design of the HACH residual chlorine detector makes online residual (total) chlorine detection more stable, and extends the service life of both the working and reference electrodes.

The HACH CLF/CLT10sc online residual (total) chlorine detector is suitable for groundwater systems and pipeline systems in drinking water, as well as for monitoring residual (total) chlorine in process control; Monitoring of disinfection processes for boiler control and cooling systems in power plants; Monitoring of residual chlorine concentrations in wastewater treatment.
