The HACH2582sc trace dissolved oxygen analyzer consists of an SC4500 controller and a market-proven trace dissolved oxygen sensor. This electrochemical trace dissolved oxygen analyzer uses a consistent product design platform, combined with familiar touchscreen design, skilled sensor assembly experience, and the same installation dimensions as the 9500 controller. The 2582SC is easier to install, integrate, and debug, and is especially suitable for precise measurement of low concentrations (ppb) dissolved oxygen.

 

Working Principle:

The dissolved oxygen measurement of the micro dissolved oxygen meter is based on the well-known Clark battery principle. The oxygen-permeable membrane isolates the water sample from the electrode, so there is no need to adjust the water sample.
Because their reducing or oxidizing ions cannot pass through the breathable membrane, they do not cause interference.
A constant voltage is applied to both electrodes, keeping the potential of each electrode constant.
The gold working electrode (cathode) reduces dissolved oxygen to hydroxide ions:
O2 + 2H2O + 4e- --> 4OH
Oxidation reactions occur on the surface of large silver electrodes (anodes):
4Ag+ + 4Br- --> 4AgBr + 4e-
Redox reactions produce diffusion current, and the magnitude of the current is proportional to the dissolved oxygen concentration. Electrochemical reactions and diffusion rates are sensitive to temperature. Therefore, the measurement unit is equipped with a built-in temperature sensor that can automatically compensate for temperature, improving measurement accuracy.
