A Teflon-coated ceramic carrier was used to simulate the physiological morphology of the leaves, and the conductance of the carrier had a fitting curve relationship with the humidity of the carrier. Therefore, the magnitude of the carrier current signal can be used to equate the blade humidity status. Leaf humidity has important index significance in the research of plant disease prevention and control and intelligent irrigation system.
Measuring principle
ADCON Leaf Moisture Sensor has been developed to provide users with a stable and low-power sensor that replaces traditionally used paper sensors or human or animal hair. A conductive grid track was etched onto the Teflon ceramic plate to accurately simulate the surface of the leaf and output a series of readings between 0 and 10.
In order to imitate correctly, the leaf humidity sensor should be installed on the left side of the leaf. Avoid direct sunlight and excessive exposure to the wind, as both will greatly reduce the leaf wetting time.
The output of the sensor in ADCON's addVANTAGE Pro software is based on the actual verification of large-leaved plants. Currently in all disease models in addVANTAGE software, the sensor value between 0 and 3 is recognized as dry, while the value from 4 to 10 represents wet. For the special leaf wetting mode, or the disease model needs the intermediate value of dryness and wetness, it can be easily realized by using different drivers of sensors.
Maintenance: Regular cleaning with a damp cloth, or after spraying, is sufficient. A mast mounting arm, bracket, clip and a standard 7-pin connector to connect ADCON with a 3-meter cable.
